Back pain is the most common of all kinds of pain. People may think that it’s easy to alleviate pain; but if it becomes persistent and acute, a patient would have to see a back pain specialist. This is the physician whose specialization is diagnosing and treating back pain. There are also several types of back pain specialists. It would help a lot for you to understand the roles of each type of back pain specialist.

There’s the chiropractor who aims to cure pain with the use of alternative or non-traditional methods. The chiropractor is specializing on the treatment and diagnosis of neuromuscular issues. You can also see an orthopedic specialist. This is the specialist trained and skilled in the field of musculoskeletal stress, injuries, and issues. Most often they provide treatment for sports injuries but they can also provide therapy, medication, and corrective surgery for musculoskeletal issues.

There are also physio therapists who can help you with pain issues after a surgery or injury. They are not really medical doctors but they assist physicians to address the aforementioned pain issues.
